I am going to the local dealer tomorrow.
From what they said on the phone, I can have their first car, to my specs, at MSRP with a $5k deposit to order.
I will find out when I get there, but if that is true, I can post the dealer name, etc.

Don't Blame the Dealers

Auto dealers are not responsible for the outrageous mark up. There are folks out there with too much cash to spend for their toys. Remember PS3 on ebay selling for $3000. Now you can walk into Walmart and buy it for 1/10th of that price. The blame is on us people. Yes the GTR is a great car but it is still a "production" car. Nissan will ramp up production of the GTR once they get a feel for how much the real demand can be sustained. In 1990, Honda debut their NSX supercar with resounding success. The NSX was selling for $100k when MRSP was only $60k. But demand soon collapsed when the Japanese and US economy tanked. At the moment, the US economy is reminiscent of the early 1990's. If you are patient, I think the GTR will be selling at MRSP a year or two from now. Or you can pick up a used NSX for $35k, install a Lovefab Turbo kit for $15k with a set of Brembo brake kit for $5k and have yourself one awesome ride.
