Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn today announced that the next generation of Nissan’s GT-R performance car will be available in North America and badged as a Nissan model, consistent with its global branding. Previous reports had suggested it would be sold as an Infiniti. The new GT-R was previewed last year in concept form as the GT-R PROTO (pictured). Traditionally, the Nissan GT-R has not previously been offered for sale in North America. The GT-R will debut in production form at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show, the company said today. It is scheduled to go on sale in Japan in Fall 2007, followed by the U.S. and Canada in Spring 2008. More details on the launch of the GT-R will be available at a later date.

It's about time us americans got something worth while out of the automobile market. And something as awesome as the GTR under the original Nissan name instead of Infinity is a momentous occasion. HIP HIP HOORAY!!!

My email said it will be sold under Nissan.

ok guys, now read each others posting carefully.......because if you look at it, you both posted the same email, and they both say the same thing. They both say that Mr. Ghosn said they have decided as of the NY International Auto Show that it would be sold under the Nissan badge, and that when they "first" unvieled the GT-R at the "Tokyo" auto show that they were as "yet" undecided. So what that email says now 3 times in this thread is that the Nissan GT-R will be sold in the US under the (drum roll please!) NISSAN badge.
