How long before MSRP becomes a norm?

Well in 3 years you'll be able to easily find a below-MSRP first model year GT-R in the US. The R35 will be more than 1/2 way through it's generation cycle by then.

And you can import a JDM R-35 here as it is officially recognized as a "world production car." Someone here in SoCal has already done it, a black one, and it is legal.

You can't use the sat/nav or radio, but it's legal (and it probably involves minor safety adjustments like bumpers and reflectors).

I 100% agree with you and again thanks for the great advice. Now, I just have to wait it out. BTW, If I find one at MSRP now I will buy it and have it stored until my return. I am that serious about this car. It will be my last expensive sports car purchase. If I have to get the Japanese RHD GT-R I will but I would prefer the LHD.

my pleasure, Nate. You will have your car one way or the other; I can see that you are a focused fan.

If production does not go up, and the demand remains strong expect to see Porsche like mark ups.

I agree fully.

I tend to believe that even more if the alleged production for MY2010 will drop to 1500.

I don't know exact figures but some people who were disgruntled over the GT-R went to look at GT-3s and found those are just as marked up. I believe you can't really get one anymore.

You have to wait 6 months for a GT3, and they will ding you 20 - 50K over. Good luck with an RS, they are over 100K markups going around.

Similar cases too for the Audi R8 and any new Ferrari, but waits are in the years and not months.
