Cosworth is way worth it

if it helps, elation should be the feeling about the "ford" cosworth: they are a legendary british race car engine developer, the best in history, said to be "massaging" the new GT-R's VQ.

from car and driver:

"There are conflicting reports out of Japan regarding the powerplant. One camp believes the GT-R will be powered by a Cosworth-developed twin-turbo version of the current 3.5-liter V-6, offering at least 450 horsepower. Others believe a new twin-turbo 3.2-liter V-6 will get the call.

To make sure the GT-R has supercar handling, chassis engineers from Lotus were selected to develop its steering, suspension, and drivetrain..."

from www.formula1racing.com

"Cosworth Racing, the most successful engine builder in Formula One history, will continue to develop the CR-3 V10 engine that powered the Jaguar R2 last season. Nick Hayes, Managing Director at Cosworth Racing takes up the engine story: "I'm confident that, with the right development, the Cosworth CR-3 V10 engine will make significant further gains in 2002," says Hayes. "For example, the block and heads incorporate new design features, and we will introduce further modifications throughout the coming season. We are looking to improve not only ultimate power but also power-curve width, driveability and packaging. Indeed, despite the fact that CR-3 is an evolution of CR-2, we have nonetheless significantly lowered its centre of gravity without having had to resort to a wider V-angle or compromise its excellent packaging qualities..."

Here is the deal, the V8 will be lighter, and have more power. So, where is the problem? Why is it blasphemy? V8s with a big turbo, there is no other better combo on the planet

Wow, never considered orange on a GTR but it does look very nice. I'm more into basic colours (shows off the seriousness of the car) but orange will highlight its lines very nicely. One suggestion...that cheesegrater grill must go!

I am going white. There are not that many white R32 GTRs around here. The Black GTR is going to stay black, they look very menacing in dark colors.

As for the grill, it look a lot better in person, although if I could change that cheesegrader, I would

The drag GTR w/ the V8 T76, will have no AC, so I need to go with a light color.

You took that car apart? That was a very good set up.

There are only a few things I am lacking. I need a distrib, 7/16 rocker studs, guide plates, fuel system, custom pistons & rods. I am keeping the engine stock stroke, since I would like a little more higher hp, and the rest will have to be custom installation. I only want to spin it 6800, but with the hyrdo roller lifters that might be pushing it.
