The $5k over dealer was Royal Nissan in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I don't know if they have any slots left though. The dealer I ordered from is West Palm Nissan, also the closest to where I live. If you want contact info for my dealer, let me know.

Finally placed my preorder today. Signed the contract and Fedexed it back to the dealer with a $5000 deposit already on my credit card. Black on Black premium edition with Ipod and floormats. Can't wait!!!

I placed one previously locally, but they would not settle on a price and just said that they would sell it at "Fair Market Value" when the car came out, so I got my deposit back from them today. In Southern California, I wasn't willing to wait things out and see how that went. Would rather have a guaranteed price now and know that I have a car at that price, even if I do have to drive 800 miles to get it.

A similiar thing happened to me when I was on the pre-order list for the 350Z back before it was released. It didn't happen until the day that my pre-ordered Z arrived at the dealership. When they finally sat me down with the markup, I asked for my deposit back and walked out.
