find the interior fuse box under the dash and pull the 4wd fuse, wire in a switch and inline fuse in its place and it's done.

you can also pull a fusable link under the hood but you have to a) get out of the car to put it back in; b) turn the engine off and restart to reset.

the advantage of using the one under the dash is all you have to do to reset the system is come to a complete stop and flick the switch. walla! 4wd again.

bear in mind also that doing this will disable your abs too. (if your car has it) during the time the switch is open

as far as I am aware GTR's and GTS-4's carry the same drivetrain (motor exculded) and only drive the rear wheels until traction is lost, when 4WD kicks in.therefore it shouldn't matter how long you are in 2WD, as your normally in that mode anyway.

Did the inline switch trick, and it worked. Mind you all its stability went to ****! It hopped around like it was on springs! Didn't like it! I'm leaving it like it was. Thanks for the tip

hmm. what do you mean by that? was it not in rwd-only mode? didn't it completely disengage the front drive aspect of the wheels?

Must not have. I've got a 4x4 Dodge, and when I hard bank turn with all 4 on, the stearing bucks. It was sortof like that, only not as forcefull, and I wasn't turning the wheel.

i've heard of others with a similar result. they say you cannot really completely disable the ATTESSA. i guess that is why, for example, people who drift skylines never use a GTR. always a GTS-t with RB25. even heard of people dropping SR's into GTS-t's.

Guess I'll have to hang up my ideas of drifting my way into fame and fortune. Mabey I'll stick to road racing. Car seems to be set for that.

welp, you can always pick up a cheap S13 for drifting.

the GTR is the consummate touring car. you could, too, get a used GTS-t. those are rwd only.
