How many U.S. Skyline drivers here?

I own an Evo RS, but have been looking at the 95-98 Skylines for a while.. but the amount that it seems to cost to get one here and so forth, I may as well save that money and go for the new GT-R... so I was wondering how many here have gotten a Skyline to the U.S. and what did it cost you?

Methodical4u 05-05-2008 05:33 PM

nobody?

well, I was basically just trying to see how many people here had them in the U.S. and just figure out how much there is in getting one legal here and what the cost is. What did you pay for yours to get it all straight?

sebastian_mao689 05-09-2008 01:46 PM

the cais whatever it will be, like on the open market i japan, for r33 gtr it will go from20000 to 30000, r34 gtr 30000 to 40000, shipping and custom here is 10000 appox, title in FL is 3500, and so on,, i have a r34 and r33

what about all of the costs of changing it over to U.S. specs?

sebastian_mao689 05-09-2008 02:25 PM

well ,, you mean left hand drive?? cause nissan never made obd II for skylines, only if you put a vq engine in there , but no one will do that, but left hand drive kit is possiable . there is kit from taiwan that can do base on r32 left hand, and you can swap in to r33,34 with some mud..

sebastian_mao689 05-09-2008 02:27 PM

again,, only few people do that ,,, since you can title the car, people like to keep it original JDM

well no, I mean just getting all of the bumpers and glass or whatever needs changing for it to be U.S. road ready. I don't care if it's right or left hand drive.

sebastian_mao689 05-09-2008 07:40 PM

it depand of the state you regist, like in FL , you can keep it original, but in CA, no matter what you do, you are not going to pass it

sebastian_mao689 05-09-2008 07:43 PM

which means you need to ask local DMV if they have some laws that you cant do something, then sorry about that my friend,,

you don't have to change anything if you know what you're doing...the only reason to convert a skyline to LHD is if you have money you want to waste...

half the info on this thread is wrong, especially what that guy said about FL title.

california is not the place to live if you want a skyline, liberals run that state, thats why its so screwed up.

for $20,000 i could get you a really nice skyline R32 GTR...i will have another one for sale in like 2 months..buying an R35....well go for it, they sell over the $100k sticker price, too much if you ask me

nissan34 07-05-2008 01:45 PM
