I am in the process of buying an 02 M-spec NUR that I plan to import to the US for show and display purposes. However after contacting Nissan to verify the chassis number and number of cars produced them claim that they have no records of the production numbers.

I am certain that there are only 250 of this model but I need to prove this from a "credible source" when submitting my paperwork. Does anyone know where I can get this info? I plan on contacting the production plant next but Nissan has assured me this will make no difference.
