2009 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu

2009 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu

Following the release of last year’s black-on-black Veyron Sang Noir, Bugatti has used this weekend’s Pebble Beach Concourse to unveil yet another special edition Veyron: the Grand Sport Sang Bleu.

Rather than painting the body, the Sang Bleu’s colours are drawn directly from the materials used in its construction: carbon fibre and aluminium.

Built to celebrate Bugatti’s 100th anniversary, this special one-off Veyron uses blue carbon fibre to form the second colour in the Sang Bleu’s version of the Veyron’s famous two-tone style.

The unique alloy wheels of the Sang Bleu are inspired by those designed for the Grand Sport Roadster, with the addition of a Midnight Blue and Diamond Cut two-tone finish to match the body.
The interior of the Sang Bleu has been given a special Pebble Beach makeover, featuring a new ‘Gaucho’ leather to Bugatti says was developed to blend with the exterior styling.
The Sang Bleu, based on the Veyron Grand Sport, is a purely aesthetic exercise, drawing power from the same 1001hp (746kW) W16 quad-turbocharged engine and sending it to the ground via an all-wheel-drive system.
In honour of the Bugatti name’s 100 year history, the brand is one of the feature marques at this weekend’s Pebble Beach Concourse in California.
Some 250 Veyrons have been sold since the car’s launch in 2006.
