It's crazy mate. I wish there were official times for stock 32, 33, & 34 but I guess we'll never know.

There is a vid available where an apparently stock R32 does it in 8:22ish.....but who knows.

Here you go.

This map shows the Nordshcleife & Sudshcleife - North loop & South Loop - as it was when it was one circuit.

http://home3.swipnet.se/~w-32546/nbring/holecir.htm

The whole circuit was only used for three years until 1931 when the 8km Sudschleife section was removed. Apparently most of it is still there used as access roads and modern highway.

The modern Nurburgring GP circuit is between the Nordschleife & Sudschleife. The loop on the bottom left. You can see where the new cicuit joins the Nordschleife at T13 which is where the old pits are I believe.

Also, The Nordschleife was changed in the early eighties when the new GP circuit was built. It is now about 2km - I think - shorter. Steffan Bellof's record was recorded on this shorter course.

And here's a really good history of the Sudschleife with lap times from the 50's etc

R34 year

G'day guys,

I get really confused about the Nurburg ring when people talk about it. I know the R33 GTR was the first production car to go around in under 8mins. The 32 was slower and the 34 was a bit faster. I'd like to know what year the 34 did that lap time and what model?

Another thing while I'm asking questions - can someone tell me a comprehensive history of what GTR won what championship series in what years. I know all about Australia and bits about Japan, but does someone have a complete list of every series win by the 'GROUP A" killers,

Ta, KG

You'll have to add this one to the list. A true production car, you can buy now for $70k ish and get a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty.

7:40* -- 161.217 km/h – 2006 C6 Corvette Z06, 505 PS/ 1419.7 kg (estimated), Jan Magnusen (AutoBild 7/2005) (*mfr.), >>> http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?vi...0&tID=44953

After only a few laps and a scorching 7:40 time Jan Magnusen was quoted as saying he had had enough. Those speeds were too dangerous in a non-race prepared car. He reportedly caught serious air cresting a rise at one point on the track leading to his comments.
