What's the outlook for mods / tuning for R35?
I've read that Nissan has taken measures to thwart ECU mods and that all the innovative engineering on the new GTR may make it harder to mod than other turbo cars (which in general can be modded easily for more power).
Anyone have any info on this? I see that Mine's is doing some work in Japan, but no quantitative data on gains.
Any U.S. tuners planning to offer power kits / tuning?

Cobb Tuning has had their JDM R35 GTR cracked for some time now; from their blog:
"Some claims had been made to suggest the new Nissan GT-R ECU was encrypted and ‘uncrackable’. Well folks, we’ve ‘cracked’ it. Our own GT-R is a JDM version with the fun-sapping 180 kph (112mph) speed limiter. Thankfully, it can now be removed. We’ll continue to do more in-house testing and hopefully get some beta AccessPORTs out to the other two JDM GT-Rs in the US inflicted with the same speed limiter woes. By the time North American spec cars arrive, we should be well prepared and practiced in the art of tuning the GT-R’s ECU.
Stay tuned for more tuning updates as we begin to see what can be extracted from the new GT-R with some ECU tuning!"

If you follow the pages in the blog, you'll see their prototypes for exhaust, intakes, etc.

Cobb will surely produce some great parts/ECU management for the GTR.

MINE'S has also cracked the ECU and did it some time ago. It is believed that they worked with nissan in order to crack it. They have produced a 550 hp GT-R that is reliable with a higher boost level. MCR has had problems with the transmission and their GT-R had around 600 hp.
