someone has to explain to me the front suspension setup with the springs setup in the engine bay like that

thats a picture of last years gt500 car i belive. its based on the 350z body style not the GT-R body style.

its still an awesome car!

because the GT500 car is nothing like the GT-R, its an all tube frame body and shares nothing alike, it uses the spring setup like you see for a much better racing experiance.

They use that geomitery as its is like a canalivre. The springs have a mechanical advantage in that position. It is the same layout of the F1 cars, the Enzo, and many other race cars.

Interesting to me, is that they are using a V8 in the car.... Like a Z06 / C6R.

Other benefits to cantilever suspension include: Ease of access/adjustment, ease of replacement, less unsprung weight, and bring the weight of the damper more inboard to the center of the car

they are using last years v8 because its already proven to be a great engine. the new gt-r vr38 is not proven yet. tho it could compete, its too new.
