What did you guys think about the movie? What did you like about it and what didn't you like about it?

haven't seen it yet. i'm reluctant to see it, as the newer episodes I and II were nearly unwatchable and just dreadful pieces of sh!t.

i've heard episode III is the best one out of the newer 3. i'll probably end up seeing it anyway to just fill the gap.

in my recollection, lucas himself says he will not make anymore, but there are yet 3 MORE after these, ie, episodes VII, VIII, and IX. as those will supposedly be adapted or made for tv.

Yeah I heard about the TV show. The 3rd episode is pretty good, but I don't want to hype it up that much.

good idea. i am, at times, surprised at how some people actually defend and like "I" and "II"; i just don't understand it. those were just horrible films. stupid and boring. and actually made badly.

It seems the people that actually read the star wars books/comics who are big fanatics seem to not like the way the movies were made. Maybe I'm wrong.

Why don't you like the two episodes? Was there something missing?

episode I was dreadful: jar-jar binks? that was a blatant 'burnt cork clown' comic relief that went too far. he was the "funny black guy" that was overspent and got annoying. there was barely a story. many of the scenes were just overdrawn and done up with lots of awful CGI eye-candy that did nothing. the film was made for 5-9 yr olds. and even people of those ages will look back at that movie with disdain. episode I was plodding and episodic and hard to watch because it was so monotonous. and i hated that little anikin bas-tard. i wanted him to die. and the whole "jedi blood test" was just gay and stupid --there's now a jedi "gene" or something? you don't learn it like kung-fu? it's this gay-a$$ gene? i found that to be unecessary and contrived, killing the magic. overall, the film was made like a big-budget student film.

and i haven't even gotten to bash "II" yet.

episode II: was not as bad as I, but nearly. i thought the prolonged and forced chemistry between the princess naboo chick (natalie portman) and anikin was just a sham. the movie became a maxfield parish painting ripoff, with this lame love affair in the middle of it. there were moments when i thought just maybe she'd take it off, as it appeared the film maybe wanted to go there. but the romance lacked steam and eroticism. very dull.

the gladiator-esque fight scene in the colusseum was ok, but the typical episodic tv feel of the enitre movie destroyed it for me.

lucas was foolish to kill off perhaps the coolest character of late -darth maul -- so early on. what a dumb mistake that was. basically, george lucas was a childhood hero of mine. i grew up with him and speilberg. now i feel like he should have quit while he was ahead, at least preserving his legendary status, his mystery. now i see him as an overindulgent meglomaniac --a very successful one, of course. but lacking any awe whatsoever. if anything, he has proven that he cannot direct very well. (for example, "empire strikes back," my favorite, was directed by irvin kirshner --a person who understands actors and character development-- the very reason why he was picked to direct that film).

as i post-whore, i will add that even though lucas is massively successful all over again, i feel that he has failed: he has failed to carry on with the original feeling and creative genius of the original films of the 70s and 80s. i am aware that filmmaking in general is just business and "bottom line." but if such a thing is not really necessary anymore for lucas, why go there? why become this over-indulgent a$$hole who apparently has contempt for his original fans by making hollow and nearly campy CGI masturbating puppet movies?

i feel lucas has too much power. so much so that the people surrounding him are so happy to just be working for him, riding the coat-tails of the star wars legacy and legend, so eager to please george, that they all just say "yes, sir, yes sir yes sir yess...." and nobody criticizes or challenges lucas. so he ends up hoarding all of the choices for himself, as he must enjoy that, as he makes his barely-collaborative new trilogy of vapid crap.

[Revenge of The Sith is the sixth Star Wars film to be released]

Two Star Wars fans are in a critical condition in hospital after apparently trying to make light sabres by filling fluorescent light tubes with petrol.

A man, aged 20, and a girl of 17 are believed to have been filming a mock duel when they poured fuel into two glass tubes and lit it.

The pair were rushed to hospital after one of the devices exploded in woodland at Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

A third person present at the incident had been questioned, police said.

Videotape found

A videotape was found nearby by police called to the scene on Sunday.

A police spokeswoman said the pair were taken to West Herts Hospital before being transferred to the specialist burns unit at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, in Essex.

They are both said to be in a critical condition.

She said the 17-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man from Hemel Hempstead suffered serious injuries.

She added: "At this stage we are unable to confirm the exact circumstances, but glass tubes and traces of accelerant (flammable substance) were found at the scene."

The final film in the Star Wars series, Revenge Of The Sith, arrived at UK cinemas last week.

One of the crucial scenes features a light sabre battle between Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker.

All I can say is Wow.
