Just joined the forum. Am keeping up on the GTR as I would be interested in buying one when it is available. Hoping for a car that is fun to drive with good handling.

I enjoy reading the posts of the members that are passionate about the GTR and its heritage. Myself, I am less concerned about what the GTR was in the past but more about what the new GTR will be.

Thats because you have never driven a GTR. If you had driven one then you would want to know its history. That fact that the car was hit with handicap weight increases during the early 90s, because it was destroying all the other cars, and even with the increase race weight it was still winning, so they just planed banned them from all the races the following year. I am not sure, but the Australian race history for the GTR might be on this site, and is a very good read.

Thanks for the reply. Probably the only GTR I will drive(at least test drive) will be the 2007-2008 GTR. That is going to have to be the one to "stir my soul".

There are a few GTRs in Texas. You might get luck enough to see one. I can tell you the R32s look much better in person for some reason. Pictures do not do the car any justice. Before I saw them in person, I only wanted a R33, but after seeing them in person, my opinion totally changed. AFrom what has been written about the new GTR, it will be a show stopper, I just hope they don't send the US a tamed down version, but that just makes it all the better cause then you can start to modify
