Other than motorex, I haven't heard of any other companies out there that can successfully bring the skyline in and make it a fully street legal car. Here's some reference material to give you an idea: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=59326 |
What about bringing in a Skyline R34 GT-R for show/race purposes? I am looking to build a show car, and after a year, build a full track spec car...Are the stipulations the same with my case?

If I were you, I would try to find a reputable importer to help bring the car in. The importer should be able to tell you the costs and the necessary paper work needed to bring the car in. They can take care of the entire thing for you, except finding the car. |
Try J.K. Motors, look for an RI list too.

http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/...osd072003.html and here's a Federal PDA file about it. http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/...howDisplay.pdf |
Dont ask me who, but I do remember hearing of a company that swiched a r33 from RHD to LHD and then complied with the rest of DOT's felgercarb. Supposadly somewhere in SoCal. Other than that, you may want to try importing through Canada. Drawback to that is the 15 year rule. Which means you can only bring in a 1990 or older unit.
Worth a shot to ask DOT about that. |
