Any plans?

Sean 07-23-2006 02:57 PM

A few but all involve money I don't have. She's already stage one, which I'm happy with at the moment but at 80k miles a rebuild could be looming so lots of shiny pipework and chrome do dahs could be in order. First order of business is a set of 18'' alloys and a bumper respray though

SkylineUSA 07-24-2006 08:39 AM

Rims, yep:smilie_th

If you lived a little closer, I could shoot your bumper. I live just west of Oxford.

Appriciate the offer. At some point the car has had a minor front end bump as some of the plastic is slightly cracked. I'm in two minds whether to get her resprayed a different (non standard) colour but I'm also coming round to the idea of pinstripng. I've never seen one on a Silver R33 before so that could work to make her stand out from the croud. I'm a huge fan of Overhaulin' the TV program and would love to take some styling queues from Chip Foose
(Have I mentioned the rather gorgeous full leather interior in my car:D

SkylineUSA 07-24-2006 10:19 PM

Chip is awesome, I have been a fan of his for about 10 years, when he use to work for Boyd.

I am foosing :smilie_th one of my GTRs, its in the tech section if you care to take a look.

Total respray is not cheap, its a lot of work to say the least.

Sean 07-25-2006 10:41 AM

I assume you meant the wide body 32 in the tech section? If so that car will have some serious road presence!

I know how much a respray will cost:SHOCKED: but I wanted a dark coloured car so I could get the 'wet look' more easily. Then this car came up on the GTROC with a 6 year Abbey history and the right level of mods at a really silly price so silver it was. Realistically I will probably have to work with the original colour as the paint work is actually in very good nick and I would rather spend the money on the engine.
What other Foose touches have you got planned for your 32?

SkylineUSA 07-25-2006 02:06 PM

Two tone, shaved door handles, big tyres in the back, narrow rear, V8:smilie_th , Custom interior, etc:)

Spend the money on the engine, you'll enjoy that more;)

Sean 07-26-2006 01:30 AM

A V8:eek: ........:D

I saw a 2 tone 32 GTST in Manchester apparently they produced a few from the factory like that - It looked damn good thats for sure.

I like the idea of the Shaved handles it certainly smartens up a cars looks.

My engine mods will all be aimed at very safe, reliable power. I'm not a huge track day fan or 1/4 miler, I'll let other do that and enjoy the spectacle:smilie_th I would like a little more zip away from the lights. the 320 she's running at the mo is not quite enough considering the weight of a 33

SkylineUSA 07-26-2006 02:35 PM

Factory two tone, never heard or seen anything like that, but you never know:)

Like you, I will let everyone else mod there GTRs, its just a little too expensive for my taste. That is why I am going with a Turboed V8, twice the torque, same hp, at a 1/4 of the price :smilie_th plus losing about 350 pounds of car as well, should make for a very scary ride.
