GTR Trans Fluid Change

The pics are pretty self explanatory, but if you need advice, post them up.
I used Light Weight Shock Proof, since I am not one to tear up my GTR at the track, for those guys that like those hard launching, use the heavy weight. I will say this, the stuff works! Before with the conventional dinasour fluid, my synchros would crunch like hell, as you can see on the drain plug with the metal shavings, now with the Red Line installed, there is absolutely no crunching at all. By the way, make sure your car is level, and when the fluid starts come out of the fill hole, you are done, and all you need for the job is a siphon pump, and a 1/2 drive (no socket). |
have you tried any other types other than Red Line?
Cheers steve |
Red line is the stuff!!
Yeah! my GTR crunched like a bit with 75/85 trans oil,i put in red line 'super light weight' and smicky smack, its smooth and slick. It Seems to be good stuff (it would want to be, at the price, cost me $100aus for 4 litres,it ran out the filler on the last pump).

I assume that my car still has the original fluid, (just turned 16k) so was thinking about changing soon.
thanks Steve |
Hi Steve,
I swear by Red Line, I would use no other. I'll send you a PM this week when I fond out more info on the damper. Cheers, Tony |
top notch Tony - didn't realise it would be so easy. I will need to get some shockproof - might just get lightweight - and also a suction pump.
If halfords have one - I might get a pit too - this should make it a bit easier.. :) |
