Visited 3 dealers this weekend in ny/nj area

1st dealer: getting 3 cars, selling for 20,000 over msrp and one already taken
2nd dealer: getting 4 cars, selling for 10% over msrp, one taken
3rd dealer: getting 2 cars, selling for 100,000, one taken

My own personal opinion is that nissan will increase production very shortly after the first run of cars and prices will come down fast. I think they are giving the dealers a chance to sell for a huge profit so they can recover some of the equipment and training cost associated with selling the gtr. Also the limited number of cars is creating a buzz for the car that normal advertising cant accomplish. I personally can wait and dont have to have the car first so hopefully this will happen. Otherwise there are some other really good options in the same class for cheaper than these markups. Ive never paid over MSRP and it wont start here. What do you guys think?

I think they should only produce a limited quantity to keep these cars hot, intead of saturating the market with them. That's been Ferrari's business model, and look how successful they are with their 2 year waitlists.

I can see how you feel that way if you're willing to pay 20K over MSRP. You probably wouldn't be happy to see people who are more patient get it near sticker. Anyways, I think the GT-R will NEVER be mass-produced for the US market in amounts comparable to say, a Z06.

10 percent is not bad at all. Thats definitely in the top three prices I have seen. $20k seems to be the standard
