HSV to beat GTR and NSX @ Nurburgerring

http://www.pressportal.com.au/news/448/ARTICLE/2440/2008-06-20.html

New HSV at AU$150,000 has a whopping 375kW (500HP) and 640Nm.

With this amount of power from the rear wheels there is no doubt it will beat the GTR and NSX. I think we need an upgrade from the GTR?

i doubt even with that much power that it will beat the GTR my friend.

Hence Spec-V in the works.

Get a spec V, and with the green that you save over buying that ugly HSV...mod the GTR. Not to mention that IMO the HSV has no chance against the base GTR on the ring. You're kidding, right?

rmatt8748 06-22-2008 12:30 PM

there is no chance that the hsv will come close to a gt-r, it's a cool car in it's own right, but it's nowhere near gt-r territory

thanks for posting up the info, it's cool to read about

In my post I really wasn't trying to hate...I mean, that car is nice and all; I just wouldn't call it a die hard track day car. IMO it's a bit spendy for what it is...

Not a chance. I can see it going up against the R33 7:59lap time which is a 12 year old lap time.

You have spoken too soon laddy. GTR is to Z06 as V spec is to ZR1. You are comparing apples and oranges. Both ZR1 and v spec numbers are going to creep into the low 20's...

congoman775 06-30-2008 08:53 PM

i belive it is you, who has spoken too soon grasshopper.

Actually its GTR is to C6 as V spec is to Z06. Nissan is trying to get a sub 7:20 time with the v spec.

Um, I think you have mistaken...C6 covers the vette's from 2005 to present, C5 refers to vette's from 97-04, etc. Hence, C6 refers to both the ZR1 and the Z06.:D
