Are GTR trans. problems widespread?

Haven't posted in awhile but have read some threads here, and on other forums, about the transmission problems that have come up (blown tranny not covered under warranty). Just wondering if the problem is widespread or is just getting alot of press from just a few incidents.

It is defiantly the latter, the GT-R is so widely scrutinized that the few owners who have had problems get linked to nearly every car forum on the internet. BMW also have LC on some of their cars, it only revs to 2k and the car can't take many launches, if something were broken they wouldn't cover it.

I personally won't launch my car unless I go with a tranny upgrade like the one animal house racing has.

The thing is, one guy transmission goes out because he didn't follow the proper break-in procedure, launched the car many times, got denied warranty and next thing you know a bunch of people (many of whom don't even own the car) jump on the 'My Tranny blew'' bandwagon. You know how the internet is.

Yes, it sucks that the only way to duplicate Nissan's advertise time is to use a feature that can potentially void your warranty. But Nissan warned you that this would happen if you turn off VDC unless in certain road conditions. Is it fair, absolutely not but if drag times is all you care about then this car isn't for you anyway.

This is the REAL issue with the GR-6 tranny!

There are a few things that are causing the tranny failures and it may not be entirely the fault of the internals of the tranny itself:

1 scenario is that excessive "wheel hop" may be the cause. (WEAK bushings)
another scenario is that the shift solenoid is failing and causing the gears to "crash" during shifts.
or it could be a combonation of both and or more.

the BMW LC revs to 6000rpm , and is covered by warranty.
