Plastic Compressor Turbo?

Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum. I'm a Subaru guy and am active in our forums. The reason I joined this forum is I am doing research for work. I am actually getting paid to talk on forums (this is great)

Any way the question is, I have heard that there is a stock gt-r turbo with a plastic housing on the compressor side. Does anyone know which model I am talking about and/or have any info or pics and possibly where I could purchase one? Or have I been misinformed and there is no such thing?

Plastic?! I have heard of some pretty high grade plastics but the main concern with using two different matterials in a single part is the speed at which they disperse heat. I don't see the logic in using plastics in a turbine. Please post some information if I am wrong. Otherwise I'm going to have to follow my instinct and say that you have been mis-informed.

I don't have pics, but they did use some ceramic/nylon blend for the impeller. I've never seen a plastic housing though.
